Hi, we rode at Waterloo last yr for the first time. What a nice place!! We loved it! We took the long loop trail- got lost and had to back track once or twice- but loved every minute of it!(26 miles by our GPS) I also remember riding along a country road for a spell and crossing some water with a water fall thing that made alot of noise- it was a super day and we are sure gonna go back some more this year. When are the trails thawed/dry enough to ride on usually in the spring? Are the trails open all the time or do they close it up in the winter?

This looks like a nice place to ride. I wish I lived closer. |

When you actually get a group ride together please post it. It has been over 35 years since I rode there. My gelding will have shoes, I'm hoping, the 5th of this month. He is fat and out of condition so would not want to get to stressful with him. |

I guess my biggest problem with it is that to get to those sandy trails you have to ride on the rocky ones. I've been told everything past clear lake rd is great but I have to get there first. :) My hubby and I ride Lakeland trail alot since it is real close. We like Pinckney, some areas of Brighton, Kensington, Sleepy hollow and ionia. And are game for up north and other places but have to watch our gas costs. |

What a coincidence (or two)! I just printed out the form to join Waterloo. My husband and I live in Taylor (Detroit Metro Airport) but I keep my horse in Chelsea at a friends farm on Fletcher Rd. I just got a used 4 horse stock trailer and a used ¾ ton van to pull it. I still need to learn to pull but I have driven a motorhome many times. I got it so we could go locally for one or two days because our old motorhome is too old now for MTRA rides. (We hope to get another used one if we can find one SMALL enough.) Anyway, I checked into Waterloo and even found out I know the Prez. My sister-in-law and I went to school with him! My husband and I need a week or two to practice with the trailer empty but would love to go with you some time. I would really love to go with someone who knows the trails! My husband borrows a horse from my girlfriend so we are all set. We’re rearing to go. Lol. |
