Update:- FIREWOOD- Per the DNR. There is to be NO ASH transported. Only wood from WITHIN the county can be brought to Waterloo Horsemens Campground.

Waterloo Horsemen's Association

Jointly maintained by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the Waterloo Horsemen's Association, The Waterloo Horseman's Campground provides rustic campsites for horse and rider. From the campground you have access to 25 plus miles of marked horse trails. The many horse trails at Waterloo Recreation Area provide a variety of terrain and levels of difficulty.

There are places to purchase wood: Corner of Loveland/Clearlake Rd . Also, Sugar Loaf Campground, which is the first road before the Horsemens Campground.

Waterloo Recreation Area with over 20,000 acres is the largest park in the Lower Peninsula. It has four campgrounds, swimming beaches, picnic areas, 11 fishing lakes, eight boat launches, nature trails, 47 miles of hiking trails, rustic cabins, equestrian trails and the Gerald Eddy Discovery Center.

Update: SHOWERS **The DNR asks to keep shower times between 10:00am and 2:00pm. Please be considerate of their request.

HORSEMEN'S FACILITIES: A trailer dump site is just down the road from the campground as Sugar Loaf Campground. There is also a public beach for swimming and fishing. There is something for everyone! Also, for a low fee, the shower house can be used at Sugarloaf, just around the corner from the horse camp (make a right out of the Horsemens Campground and it is the first drive on right)

Update: CORRALS: **DNR rules for corrals at the camp: If corrals are brought in, you must keep them around the picket posts, 10ft on each side.
